Beach Walks & Excursions

Monthly walks take place at a different local beach, October through April, weather permitting. As always, the club’s flag is staked closest to the main beach access and restrooms to assist in locating the group. In addition to the opportunity for members to share their knowledge, beach-combing is a great way to get to know other members and make new friends. The group usually picks a nearby restaurant to eat lunch at the conclusion of the walk. See Calendar for details.

Organized excursions offer members multiple opportunities throughout the season to shell on Florida’s most beautiful beaches and islands. The annual Carefree Learner trip to the tidal flats of Sarasota Bay is where living creatures can be observed and uninhabited shells can be collected. This long-time favorite takes place on the lowest possible tide date in January. See Calendar for date.
